Weekend at Home

We had a pretty quiet couple of days AT HOME this weekend.  It was nice to just be home....for we are usually travelers on the weekends.  Don't get me wrong....we love to go places and visit!  It's just the long Sunday drive home that gets to be no fun.  Hudson has a mean tooth coming in on top, and he has not been too happy about it.  He did get some big boy Toy Story pajamas (that make him look so big!), so he was happy about that.  He even picked them out!
Dustin's parents came down on Saturday afternoon, had to leave early on Sunday, and then we drove around Brazos county to look at property and enjoyed some Spoon's yogurt Sunday evening....while Hudson flirted with some college girls at the table next to us.
This morning Hudson was trying to help me empty the dishwasher, so I had to get a shot of him just like a picture there is of me from when I was the same age.  I wish I had it, so I could compare them!

RV Weekend

This weekend was a fun moving weekend for my brother, my parents, Hudson, and me.  Can you believe moving can actually be fun?  Only if it is in a motorhome!!
Blake graduated from A&M in May and accepted a job as a landman with an oil company based in Fort Worth, so a couple of weeks ago he and my dad moved my parents' motorhome to Burleson for him to live in for a while.  Well, on only his second day of the job, they asked him to transfer to San Antonio and to start Monday, the 21st!  Good thing he didn't move into an apartment.
Dustin was out of town for the weekend, so Hudson and I were along for the ride.  Friday night, Honey and Pokey and Hudson and I went up to Burleson, spent the night with Blake in the RV, and then we all paraded down to South San Antonio Saturday morning.  Blake's place in Burleson was called Jellystone Park at Rustic Creek Ranch (very nice RV park near Fort Worth if you ever need one)....so Yogi and Booboo were there...and we got to visit with them Saturday morning before we left.  Hudson loved riding in the motorhome!  He had the most fun just sitting in the window and watching the big trucks go by.
We got Blake all hooked up Saturday night, and he is starting his new job again today.  Good luck, Uncle Blake!!

Gatti Land

Wednesday night we wanted to do something fun with Hudson before Dustin had to go out of town for a few days.  It was already too dark to go to the pool, so we decided on Gatti Land.  Hudson has never been to a place like Gatti Land, or Chucky Cheese, or Peter Piper's.  We figured he would love all the lights and commotion....and he did!  Old Navy was next door, so we made a quick stop after pizza, and Hudson found a fedora hat that fit him to a T.
It was a fun family outing....now we are just hoping Dus has a good hunting trip this weekend, and we can't wait to see him on his first Father's Day!
There were just too many cute pictures to choose from, so I had to post them all.

He liked the fedora so much, he was taking money out of Daddy's wallet to go pay for it.

Motor Sound

Today was the first time Hudson put his motor sound together with his tractor....or any other toy for that matter. He has been making the sound for a while, and I always do it when I push his tractor....but I was lucky to catch his first time to put the two together on video. You are getting too big, sweet boy!

Watchin' Daddy

This is the scene I have witnessed almost every night the past few days.  Dustin is getting ready to go on an axis bow hunt this weekend, so he has been practicing in the backyard.  Hudson likes to watch and coach.

Great Weekend

Our weekend is winding down....We are all stuffed from supper, Hudson and Daddy are wrestling in the floor, and I am sitting here downloading pictures.

Friday night we went to Wortham to spend the night with Grandmama and Grandaddy.  We were going to Canton the next day, so we decided to drive that far and spend the night and drive the rest on Saturday morning.  We were glad we decided to break it up because Hudson was not in the mood to ride, and Grandaddy had a new toy to show Hudson.

Saturday, we made our way to Canton to the Brockman family reunion....Dustin's mom's dad's mom's side.  It was hot and muggy, but there was a little bit of a breeze, some shade, and homemade icecream....so we were ok.  Hudson loved the icecream and getting to see Dat, his great grandfather, Dustin's grandfather on his mom's side....and of course, Aunt Sis.

Sunday has been a lazy day around the house.  When it got cool enough outside, we sat in the driveway and dug into some cold watermelon.

Fickle

Yes....I changed the layout of the blog again.  I am still experimenting with this whole thing, and it will likely change often until I find the one I love.

We had a full day yesterday of playing. Hudson found the fingernail clippers I have been looking for all week, and he was really excited to play in the grass and dirt.

In the last couple of weeks he has fully mastered the art of the sippy cup (with straw only, refuses to use one that he has to tilt up) and his pinchers.

Hudson's newest things are always helping me eat my food (even if he has just stuffed himself with his food).  If I have food, he makes his way to me and pulls up on me or the chair I am sitting in and waits patiently for a bite.  He also loves helping Daddy play the guitar and sing.  We are working on the dancing part!

Ridin' in the Basket

Photo Albums at WiddlyTinks.com

Hudson has been a trooper the past couple of days.  I have had to run a few errands to several different stores, and he just rides along happy and smiling.  He loves to ride in the basket.  If we get close enough to anything he thinks we need, he will grab it and throw it in with him.  Thanks, bud, for helping me get it all done!

Collage Test....1 2 3

Thanks to Mackensie Shirack, I can now edit/upload pictures using Picasa! I'm not a pro with it, but I am definitely learning. I wanted to test my collaging skills and couldn't resist using these pictures. Thanks, Kensie!

In Review

August 31st, 2009
Hudson Tyler Dean was born at 12:49pm.  He weighed in at a whopping 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 19 1/4 inches long.  He came fast and furious.....Very short induced labor. Praise Jesus!  It was truly the most exciting wonderful amazing day of mine and Dustin's lives.
The months leading up to this day were very scary.  Hudson was diagnosed with a lung condition called Congenital Cystic Adenomatoid Malformation.  The bottom half of his left lung looked as though it had many tiny tumorous masses in it.  There was the risk of them growing and causing his heart to become squished, so we had an ultrasound every week (sometimes twice a week) from week 21 until birth to make sure there was no growth.  It just stayed the same.  At his birth, we had a team of NICU nurses and a neonatologist present in case he had trouble breathing, but he came out just fine breathing like a champ.  Surgery would come at three months.

September, 2009
With Hudson only 18 days old, we moved to College Station.  Dustin had been driving back and forth since June with his new job with Sexing Technologies.  We finally sold our house, and found a cute little rent house to call home until we can find exactly what we want in the BCS area.

October, 2009
October was spent getting settled in with our home in College Station....and college football....and Halloween.
November, 2009
In November we had our consultation with the Texas Childrens surgeon that would be doing his lung operation in December.....and we continued with college footbal....and our first Thanksgiving with our new little blessing.

December, 2009
At just three months old, Hudson had the lower half of his left lung completely removed.  He was so brave and strong, and we were blessed to have the best doctors in the world performing the surgery.  It was the hardest thing we have ever had to go through; to see our baby in pain after surgery and not be able to help him.  He came through it like the little strong man he is, has recovered 100%, could run marathons when gets older, and has a cool scar to show for it all.  We are so thankful for Texas Childrens in Houston.  Hud will have no lasting effects from this speed bump in his life.  God is so good. Two weeks later we spent a wonderful Christmas at home in College Station.

January, 2010
By 4 months, Hudson had mastered eating baby food and jumping in his "jumpy jump".  He got his first palm leaf at the Fort Worth Stockshow, and Daddy creased it just right.

February, 2010
The five month marker seemed to turn our tiny infant into a growing little boy.  He really started to jabber and began sitting up on his own.  We started swinging in the park, went to a couple of bull sales with Daddy, and attended Aggie basketball games.

March, 2010
Along came March, and we couldn't believe we had a six-month-old.  We were having so much fun, we didn't know what we did before him!  The month was filled with lots of playing and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers convention in Fort Worth.

April, 2010
By April, Hudson was sitting up on his own and eating lots of baby food.  He was beginning to giggle a lot more, and his funny personality was starting to show itself.  The weather was finally getting warmer, and we celebrated our first Easter with our sweet boy.

May, 2010
Eight whole months, and we have a little mess on our hands.  He is so much fun!! Such a great little man and still the cuddly baby he has been since he was born.  By the middle of May, Hudson finally began to show signs that he was ready to crawl but didn't actually make the move until the last week of the month.  He "scooches" using his right foot and his left knee, but he can go!  He got his first pair of boots in Abilene at the Western Heritage Classic weekend, and also made his first trip to the pool.  He is a little water bug!

June, 2010
June....oh, June.  How hot it has gotten in College Station!! But we endure the heat because this little boy LOVES to be outside.  At nine months, Hudson is crawling everywhere....follows me like a little puppy at my ankles.  He is eating all table food now.  He got a dose of squash casserole and green beans (both from the garden) at my grandparents' house in Wortham, and he was done with baby food.  The boy can eat!  He loves green beans, soft canned carrots, avocado, cheese, scrambled eggs, sweet potatoes, plums (straight from the tree), squash, rice......you name it.  He only has four teeth and one coming in, and he thinks he has a mouth full of chompers.  He says, "Hey!" anytime a phone makes a sound or someone walks in the door and "Mamamama" and "Da".  The little fish loves to go swimming and take baths.  He is such a blessing, and we are so thankful he is ours!

So....now that we are caught up (for the most part), I hope to continue keeping up!
Much love and many blessings.
