Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday, Hudson Tyler.  You are the light and the joy of our lives, and your daddy and I are so proud and thankful to call you ours.  You make us smile and laugh every single day, and your sweet hugs and sugars are priceless.  I can tell already that you have a stubborn streak in you (and I don't know where in the world that could have come from), but at least I know you will never back down or be meek.  You are strong-willed, and though it may get you in a little trouble sometimes, it will take you far in the long run.  Your friendly personality is contagious, and that sweet smile with the wave of your hand that goes with it would melt anyone.  You don't know a stranger!
This year has gone by so fast and has been so much fun with you.  We are so excited about your years and experiences to come!!
We love you to the moon and back over and over again!

Birthday Weekend

It has been a full and blessed weekend at the Dean house.  Hudson had his first birthday party on Saturday, and it was great!  We had a small party with some family and some close friends (all we could fit in our little rent home), and celebrated with a farm animal theme, my mom's amazing chocolate sheet cake, homemade icecream, lots of presents....and even a little dancing!  Hudson had his own "hay bale" cake, but he wasn't very interested in it.  We were hoping he would dive in, but he didn't....so....we are saving it for his real birthday day on Tuesday, the 31st.
Our living room looked like Christmas Morning by the time is was all over, but Hudson had a blast.  Thank you all for loving our sweet boy....and for making our home the new Toys 'R' Us headquarters.
We definitely missed Grandmommie and Grandaddy and Pop and Patsy and Dat....and hoping Grandaddy and Pop both get to feeling better. We love you very much and can't wait to see you soon!!

Hudson started his birthday party morning with some Handy Manny cartoons in our room in his new favorite spot....the end of our bed, in between the matresses and the footboard.

"I know you and Dad worked really hard on my hay bale cake, but I just don't think I am gonna try any right now....ok?"

Presents

He got just a few riding toys....Car from Honey and Pokey, Horse from MimiGigi and PapaT, Giraffe from Ash and Brian...and we didn't get a picture of the 4-wheeler from Uncle Dave and Aunt Karen.

Hudson doing his birthday dance to the Madagascar Move It song.

And....Pokey doing a little dancing of his own....

On Sunday, Honey gave Hudson his first haircut.  It was sad to see those sweet baby curls get cut, but this boy's hair was wild and needed a little taming.

After...so handsome!

We cannot believe we are about to have a one-year-old.  Weird.  I remember this time last year, I was walking my buns off  in the August Pleasanton heat and counting the minutes between contractions that had been going on for days.  I had no idea how much our life was about to change....to a whole new amazing world of joy and fun.  Dustin and I are so very thankful.

Crazy Week

Please excuse my neglect....It has been crazy around here!!  Dustin and I went to Bossier City this past weekend.  It was a fun getaway....with some great sleep, but we did miss our sweet boy.  Dustin had to speak at a bucking bull symposium, so we kindof made it our little summer vacation since we haven't really done anything.  Hudson stayed with Honey and Pokey, and we did a little gambling, napping, and eating.

We have also been getting ready for Hudson Tyler's First Birthday party!!  There is a lot to do around the house....and lots of goodies to prepare.  It is just going to be a small ice cream and cake party with a few people because our home we are renting is just not big enough to host, but we are definitely excited!
We cannot believe he is already turning 1.  To all my friends having babies right now, I am telling you to buckle up because it goes so fast....They are tiny little helpless cute lumps, and then you are chasing their naked bootie down the hall trying to get that diaper on them.  It is crazy how fast it all just passes by.  I try so hard to soak in every baby moment with Hudson, but it is still going way to fast for my liking.  I just want him to stay little forever! He was so tiny!

As if we don't have enough going on, we have started our home hunt this week.  Our lease is up in December, and our month of September is packed full....so we decided we better get started.  It is fun and exciting but so stressful at the same time.  We just want it to be the right place for our family.  God will show us to it.....We just have to hand over our impatient hearts and be totally faithful in Him.

This is the only picture I have from the past couple of weeks.

Here it is...

Well, heck! If you looked at Hudson and Dustin's music video yesterday (Friday), it was the wrong one!  I guess I accidentally uploaded the practice session.  Here is the right one.  Watch out, CMT!  Hudson says it's called, "Hey!".

Pleasant Pleasanton

Oh, Pleasanton, how we have missed thee!  We got to go visit our sweet friends in Pleasanton this past weekend, and it was so good to catch up.  We loved the two years we spent there and the wonderful friends we made.  Hudson got to spend the first two weeks of his life here before we made the move to College Station.
While we were there, Hudson got to feed the horse at the house where we were staying.  He thought it was funny to say the least..... and notice in the second video (right at the end) he decides to try some for himself!

Daddy and Hudson

While we were down South, I also got to go to a baby shower for my sweet friend, Jennifer Gentry. I got to catch up with all the Boerne girls, and Hudson got to play with Miss Kamryn who is 6 weeks older than he is.

After our weekend, Dustin had to get back to College Station and Hudson and I went to Georgetown for a night for a Juice Plus meeting.  Hudson was happy to get some good pool time in at Honey and Pokey's house.

Looking just like his Uncle Blake's baby pictures right here.
Swimming with Honey.

In other big news, we decided it was time to turn Hudson's carseat around to face forward.  He can see now!! No more looking at whatever we have packed into the back.  Now he points at every truck we drive behind and makes his motor sound....and claps to any song with a fast beat. Love this boy.

Wrangler Boy

Hudson got to wear his first pair of Wranglers yesterday, and he was so darn cute in them!! Summer gave them to him months ago, but he just got to where they will fit. Still a little big in the waist, but I knew I better put them on him now before his long legs outgrow them. We were headed to meet Dus for lunch at the Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course, so it was the perfect occasion. He sported the Wranglers perfectly along with his Guayabera shirt, boots, Brazilian belt, and palm leaf hat. Hud was the cutest little cowboy on campus!

Happy 11 Months!

Oh my goodness, July flew by!  I cannot believe it is already over.....We are into August already, and our baby boy is 11 months old!
At 11 months, Hudson:
  • Loves to wash his hands in the sink
  • Still crawling...and fast.
  • Stands on his own for many seconds...but no steps yet.
  • Stands on all fours with his head to the ground like he is going to turn a flip.
  • Gives 5's
  • Says, "Dad, Mama, Bight (light), B/Pan (fan), Hey, Gnasssses (glasses), Mooo, Tractor sounds, and lots of other jabber that he says with great meaning.
  • Holds the phone to his hear and jabbers.
  • Loves everybody...no shyness here.
  • Plays peekaboo
  • Eats like a big boy.
  • Knows how to fake cough and fake cry if he needs attention
  • Has not mastered sleeping through the night....yet.
We went to the lake this weekend to take Hudson on his first boat ride.  He wasn't crazy about the life jacket requirement, but he soon forgot about it when he heard the boat motor start.  We had a picnic on the bank after some swimming and headed home with a tired boy.
